My experience with relationships is all BDSM. Clear communication and boundaries and respect, and I don't know where to put my feelings in there. Obviously I have no problem having breakdowns on you, but— I don't know, I don't want to be a problem.

Well... if Grace were in a committed relationship with someone, and they'd agreed to try to find each other if they were ever removed from Duplicity, and had adopted a child together, would you say she was being a problem, if she were upset when she thought her partner might suddenly go away to sea?

Grace is a bad example because I love her and she's never done anything wrong in her life. But it's not that I don't think I have the right to be upset, I know I do. I just don't know where the line is, like— I don't want you to have to guess how I'm feeling, that's passive-aggressive, but I also don't want you to feel guilty over how I feel.

You are no more responsible for my feeling guilty than I am for you feeling anxious.

[ he steps closer and draws him into a hug. ]

I think we each are responsible for our own feelings, but since we love and respect each other and want to help each other to be happy, the best we can do is honestly let each other know our feelings and wishes, so that we can decide together what's best for both of us.

I don't know if you saw, but I promised Lt. Irving that I'd outfit the Tempest with a VHF and see to their carpentry supply needs.

... I don't want to distress you again, but... I've been thinking I should make arrangements with another Dominant to keep you in this house if I happen to disappear, even without taking any exceptional risks.

[ Andy's pretty sure he wouldn't want to stay in the house if Ben disappeared. He thought about it after the text exchange, but he's not sure he wants to have that conversation. ]

I'm pretty sure you can leave it to me or Junior. I think we get a local Dominant to help us 'transition' and then ownership of the house goes to whoever we sign with.

... yes, but... wouldn't you rather have a contingency with someone we trust?

... I. Honestly, if you disappeared, I'd probably move back to Down housing, or sign with Grace or Daniel. I'd want Junior to keep the house, and I'm guessing he'd sign with Ky.

[ Fraser draws back a little. ]

You'd leave him here alone? Even if you didn't have to?

Of course not. I'd stay if he wanted me to, the thing is, if you left the house to one of us— or both, if the city allows it, we'd have three months to decide who to move in. But if you leave it to a Dominant, our options would be to sign with them or move out immediately.

I see. No, that makes sense. I just don't like the idea of you being assigned some local for "the transition". I'd much rather you both signed with Grace, and she have the house on paper.
