[Wade watches, fascinated at Benton's mouth pressed against his fingers. He gulps a little bit because it doesn't take much to get him going so he's already growing aroused. He shifts awkwardly in his spot trying to adjust himself as discreetly as he can.]

You're doing pretty well at this dating thing so far.

[ That startles a surprised laugh out of him. ]

Really...?

[ There's a little-kid shyness about the question, like he wants to believe it and can't, quite. ]

I think so! I don't have a lot of first dates to go by... but you've got my seal of approval and we've barely even started yet!

[Wade sees that look on Benton's face. He leans right over the table suddenly to give him a peck on the lips] You're even purer than Colossus, back home. Didn't think that was possible.

[understood]

[ The kiss makes him blush, but he looks very pleased anyway. ]

Who's Colossus?

[ He's genuinely curious. ]

He's an X-man. This superhero team back home. Pretty much the only one who ever gave me a chance. NTW and Yukio started talking to me too, but he was the first to give a shit. He's a Russian mutant, super tall, metal. Pretty decent CGI. Great ass. I got him to curse once!

He sounds like a good friend. Sorry, by "metal," do you mean that he's actually made of metal, or is this "lingo" type terminology for which I don't understand the connotations?

[ He does actual air quotes with his fingers when he says "lingo". ]

As in metal. Every part of him. All the way down to the dick. Not that I've seen it. Have felt it though... [He looks off wistful for a moment. He'll be back in a second.]

Piotr can look normal too, he just never does around me. Maybe because he knows I like it. [That's what Wade is telling himself, anyway.]

Interesting. I take it Colossus is actually his call sign...?

[ It's so easy for a statement like, "Interesting," to sound condescending, but it doesn't from Fraser. Maybe because he actually sounds interested, and not in a skeevy way. ]

Call sign. Mutant name. Superhero name. Same thing. But yes. And he lives up to it. He's a very large man. And strong.

[And now Wade is starting to miss him. And the rest of his F-word.]

I wish I could meet him.

... I mean, not in the sense that I wish he would be kidnapped to Duplicity, of course. You know.

I know. [As much as he misses people from back home, he doesn't actually want them here. Although he would be relieved in a way, if they were... selfishly.]

I'm sure you two would get along. I'd say-- like a house on fire, but I'm sure you're both sticklers for fire safety so that'd never happen.

[ Although Fraser doesn't laugh, he ducks his head and smiles in a way that is almost as good. ]

You may be right about that. Although I did have an apartment burn down, once. But that was the fault of a performance arsonist, and I was out of town at the time, so really, I hardly think I can be held responsible.

My apartment blew up once. Not a performance arsonist. Well, okay that's a lie. It was definitely a performance but... uh-- [Now it's Wade's turn to be awkward, clearing his throat.] it was me?

You blew up your own apartment as a performance?

[ His eyebrows go up. ]

Uh. [He looks off, trying to figure out what to say and falling short of anything that didn't come off crazy or sad.]

Well, it wasn't just a performance. I was inside the building at the time... I... it was just after my fiancée... after she... [Well, he remembers Wade's D/s finder surely.]

Ah.

[ Yeah, Fraser gets all the implications there. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he doesn't look shocked or judgmental. Serious, but then he almost always looks serious. ]

But you survived it.

I did. I tried a lot of things. Nothing stuck. I healed it all.

[Its said matter of fact, but there is a slight crack in his voice.]

Then I found a family. People to look after. And to look after me.

... Colossus, NTW, Yukio...?

[fourthwalled]

Them, yes. And Cable. Domino. And this kid named Russell.

[understood]

I'm glad you found them.

[ The words are banal, but the way Fraser looks at Wade when he says them gives them a different kind of weight. ]

Me too. [He manages, smiling back softly. Wade misses them but knows he'll see them again. Provided they don't get cut from the sequel...]

[understood]

[ At this point, their drinks arrive, and the look Fraser gives his margarita can only be described as dubious and somewhat intimidated. He thanks the server before blinking at it some more. ]

Gosh.

[fourthwalled]

[Wade meanwhile looks positively giddy as his margarita is placed in front of him, rocking on his seat as he slides it closer.] Hell, yeah. Don't forget to get some of the salt off the rim when you sip!

[He lifts the large glass up and takes a sip of the frozen concoction. Pulling back as he swallows, shaking his head and blinking wildly.] Ack! Brain Freeze! Worth it!

[understood]

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

[ After all, he's having a good time without any alcohol, and it's hardly going to improve is coordination for dancing. ]

Oh. [He looks a little bummed that Benton might not drink his.]

I can drink both of them?
